Program Update – Milk or Eggs
Dear Neighbour,
Thank you for being part of a community that cares about making sure everyone has access to nutritious, and culturally preferred foods. We truly appreciate your support and understanding as we work through some challenges.
Due to a drop in funding, we’ve had to make some tough decisions. Like many food banks across BC, Archway Food Bank is facing financial limits that affect what we can provide.
Until now, we’ve been able to offer milk and eggs to families with children and to people over 60 at no cost. Starting September 1st, we will only be able to offer one of these items—milk or eggs, not both.
We know this change may be difficult, and we’re very sorry. We have held off on making this change as long as possible but can no longer continue without making some cuts. If financial or in-kind donations rise significantly, we will examine our options again.
Please know this decision was made with care and based on feedback from a survey we did in March. Just over half of the families said they would be willing to purchase milk or eggs for $4 each through the Bulk Buy program.
Milk and Eggs can be ordered online at:
FoodJustice.ca/shop
The Bulk Buy Program also offers low-cost produce bags for purchase 2 times per month for $15 each.
Program Days:
- Second Saturday of the month – 12pm-3pm
- Fourth Friday of the month – 5pm-7pm
Please note: The Bulk Buy program is separate from the Food Bank and involves purchased food, not donated items.
⚠️ Important: Purchased items will not be distributed during regular food bank hours.

We’re working hard with local farms, donors, and other food banks to bring in high-quality food so that everyone in our community has what they need.
With gratitude,
