Flood Response
We’re very fortunate that our Food Bank building was not negatively impacted by flooding.. But we are very concerned about possible disruptions to our supply chain. As you know, thousands of people rely on us to access essential food service each month. During this local emergency we are also supporting some displaced individuals including approximately 200 temporary farm workers.
We’re reaching out to you, our community, to help refill our supply of food or donate towards increased procurement costs.
Food Bank drivers normally pick up food from local grocery stores each day as well as recovering fresh food from stores and farmers. These processes have already been disrupted and we’re unsure how long operations will be impacted.
Thank you to everyone who has donated or reached out with offers to help already!
At this time, we don’t have the ability to process donations of clothing or supplies. We will update you if this changes and encourage you to donate these items to other organizations.

Hi, the workers I work with have brought in about 150 to 200 lbs of vegetables. They were asking me if I could bring it to help with the flood response or anyone in abby/chilliwack that may need it. (We work in Langley and they all live in Vancouver and I live in Abbotsford. That’s why they are asking me)
Are you guys accepting vegetables? And can I donate this evening around 6pm?
Hi John, we would gratefully receive vegetables! Today we have been overwhelmed with kindness. Is it possible to bring them on Monday or next week? Please feel free to reach out to us by phone to ensure our current refrigeration has capacity on the day you would like to come by.

Hi there!
I’m collecting food donations from friends and family with hopes to get supplies to your facility, but I need to find a vehicle travelling from Vancouver to Abbotsford that could drop off the donations. Do you have any staff or volunteers that will be travelling into Vancouver and back out to you?

My wife and I brought in a carload of non-perishable foods to your Food Bank on Monday. Any many of our friends would like to the needy families that are affected by the floods as well, what would you recommend? Financial or foods donation?
Hi Francis, sorry for our delay in responding. A great way to support individual families is by sponsoring a family or senior through the Christmas Bureau. You can find more information here: https://www.abbotsfordfoodbank.com/christmas-bureau/
Everyone has been either directly or indirectly affected by the floods in Abbotsford. Thank you for doing what you can to make a difference!

Hello, we are in Richmond and my school is collecting a bunch of items (food and toilet paper etc.) for those affected by the floods. In order not to waste gas driving to Abbotsford, is there any charity that I could drop these off in Surrey that will bring it to you?
Hi Sukhbir,
Thank you for asking! Please feel free to drop off your donation at Richmond Food Bank – https://richmondfoodbank.org/
Thanks so much for supporting our community by creating access to essentials!

Hi there, my name is Zameera I am a student at UBC, I have a few proposals to help out with donations such as non perishable food and warm clothing. If there is anyone I could speak to that would be ideal, as it would be easier rather than discussing over the phone. I am also aiming to gather volunteers from my old elementary school to create hygiene kits with and bring in donations. There is a lot more id like to disucss.
Thank you kindly,
Zameera Ali

We are interested to donate some food items.I am from surrey. Is it okay to drive to Abbotsford Archway food bank or Archway building? Planning to come this monday
I am sure you are in much need of assistance to help with the residents directly affected by the flood. My son would like to help. Would you recommend he do a $2 drive at school or help with the toy drive? He will make flyers and do ASAP.
