Welcoming Change!

Exciting news! After much anticipation, we are excited to tell you that we are celebrating a fresh new name and look! After months of careful consideration we are changing our name from Abbotsford Community Services Food Bank to Archway Food Bank in conjunction with our parent agency, Archway Community Services.

 

Why Change from Abbotsford Community Services? 

With your help, the Food Bank has been able to feed the hungry in Abbotsford. Archway Food Bank will keep doing the great work we do within the borders of our city. While Abbotsford is still Archway Community Services’s central location, the organization needed a name that was inclusive of the programs that operate outside of Abbotsford’s borders and reduce the misconception that we are a branch of the City or government.

Together, let’s look to the future where we aim to continue extending a hand to those in need.

 

Why Archway?

Archway was chosen because it reflects ‘people helping people’ in a collective effort to support the community. Are you a visual person? This is how we visualize the name – an ‘arch’ draws its strength from the individual pieces supporting each other which is a metaphor for how we work together with our community to support to those in need. The ‘way’ speaks to how we support people looking to discover their direction and provide a positive path forward.
